New aCommerce Fulfillment in Cawang is Customized for E-Tailer
aCommerce rolls out a new fulfillment center in three months
The new aCommerce fulfillment in Cawang is a part of the company’s expansion plan to empower customized demands for brands and retailers. aCommerce has already opened seven hubs in Bandung and Surabaya, increasing total ground capacity to 30,000sqm in Indonesia and offering cash-on-delivery services through its own transportation network.
The facility, located in Cawang, East Jakarta operates 24/7 by 400+ employees and is home to a four level mezzanine with a total storage capacity of 3 million units and an in-house content production studio. To handle high turnover projections, the FC is powered with a conveyor system designed to enhance outbound processing time during peak season such as holy Ramadan.
The state of the art warehouse was built in only three months and is one of the first customized fulfillment centers built by aCommerce tailored specifically to the requirements of a popular Indonesian e-tailer business. The location of the FC is also strategically situated in the area that best suits the brand and its demographic.
‘Launching the new aCommerce fulfillment center in Cawang was an important step for us. It shows that we are able to grow with our clients and their needs, from regular outsource fulfillment to building an entirely customized warehouse dedicated to them. In order to help the client scale, factors such as budget and design were taken into account for the brand to reach its full potential.’ – Paul Srivorakul, aCommerce Group CEO.
The demand for a customized warehouse indicates the positive growth of the archipelago’s ecommerce potential in the coming years. As more Indonesian’s adopt online behavior, there will be a higher strain on brands to scale up operations. For businesses that are poised for rapid acceleration, a customized fulfillment center will provide the dedicated capacity, resources and manpower to accommodate for them to grow with their customer base as opposed to simply outsourcing logistics.
‘This was one of the most innovative projects I’ve worked on. Seeing the site transform from an old factory to a world class warehouse in three months was an accomplishment’. – Kenneth Thean, aCommerce Regional Director of Solution Design.
